Mid-States Concrete Industries will be closed today (July 4) in honor of Independence Day.
Independence Day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America, and were no longer part of the British Empire.
The holiday is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States.
The 4th of July also marks just a little past halfway in the year. How has your 2017 been? Have you accomplished the goals you hoped to in the first half of the year? Do you have your sights set on something big for the second half of 2017?
Have your expectations for the first half of the year fallen short? The good news is, you still have half a year to go! Take 2017 and make it what you want it to be.
